Fernando Gonda has presented at the MARTECH workshop his work carried out in the framework of the SusTunTech project, entitled: “Reduction of Fuel Oil Consumption in Tuna Purse Seiners using oceanographic data and genetic algorithms”. His work has been of great interest to the attendees, who asked questions about the buoys, the origin of the data for the calculation of the optimal route or how many days of route are usually calculated, among other questions.

This international workshop, held in Castellón de la Plana (Valencia), is now in its tenth edition. The congress is focused on marine technology and also has some joint activities with the (MIR) Erasmus Mundus Marine and Maritime Intelligent Robotics Master Annual Event and Championship.
