Igor Granado has presented the advances of the SunTunTech project on the digitalization of fishing vessels, specifically, in their route optimization by means of decision support systems (DSS). The talk entitled “Fishing route optimization to enhance the economic and environmental sustainability of tuna purse seiners” was held on October 26 at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto. The presentation focused on the fishing route optimization decision support systems (FRODSS) and their potential use in the fishing industry, as these systems can improve the efficiency and sustainability of fisheries by assisting skipper in the fishing strategy planning.
